Essential oil recipes are great for combining the benefits of different essential oils. And the great thing is that there are so many different uses and ways to use them! We have compiled a list of our five favorite essential oil recipes that you can use here.
1. Natural Insect Repellent
- 8 drops Tea Tree oil
- 8 drops of lavender oil
- 6 drops eucalyptus
- 8 drops lemongrass
- 8 drops citronella
- 6 drops peppermint
Traditional store bought insect repellents contain harsh chemicals that we put on our skin and breathe in. Ditch the toxic chemicals for this amazing and easy to natural make insect repellent. First, add the above ingredients into an 8 ounce spray bottle. Then, fill it with water and spray on your clothes when you go outside in mosquito prone areas. It works great!
2. Sensual Massage oil
- 6 drops Ylang Ylang essential oil
- 3 drops wild orange
- 2 drops sandalwood
- 2 drops cedarwood
- 1/4c olive oil.
This great recipe is great for a romantic night in. Not only is it great because of the wonderful scents, but ylang ylang is a natural floral aphrodisiac. But be sure to use a high quality topical olive oil for best results.
3. Lemon Ginger Detox Bath
- 1 cup epsom salt
- 2 T fresh grated ginger
- 8 drops lemon essential oil
Not only does the health benefits of the fresh ginger root do amazing things for your body, but the lemon combines to make a nice fragrant scent. First of all, combine all the ingredients in a bowl and mix thoroughly. Then add them to a warm bath. Make sure to not make the bath too hot because ginger creates a warming sensation. Finally, soak in the bath for 20-30 minutes and enjoy.
4. Lavender Eucalyptus Salt Scrub
- 1 cup Himalayan sea salt
- 1 cup coconut oil
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 10 drops lavender essential oil
- 10 drops eucalyptus oil
Combine the above ingredients into a glass mason jar and blend well. Make sure to use a high quality salt like Himalayan sea salt in order to enhance the quality. Use this as a salt scrub to exfoliate and help nourish and create healthy vibrant skin!
5. Sleep Well Recipe
- 3 drops lavender oil
- 3 drops cedarwood
This is another great one and is one of the most famous night time essential oil recipes. Since lavender is a calming scent is it great to use before bedtime and one of the ways to sleep better. Combine these oils and put into a diffuser. Then enjoy a deep refreshing sleep.
